STORY:
Once upon a time, a fox ventured out of the forest in search of food because he was very hungry. But search as he might, he couldn’t find any food.
“Is there any food left on this earth? Am I going to starve to death? There must be some food around here.”
“Aha, it looks like there are some delicious grapes hanging above. I bet these are the sweetest grapes in the whole world.”
“Hey, what is the meaning of this? Who hung these grapes so high?”
“Hmmm, who wants these sour grapes anyway? I bet these are the sourest grapes on earth.”
“Yummy, what a big rooster sitting over there! It will be a grand feast, I tell you. A grand feast. But he is so high up. Why is it that all the food is hanging around so high these days? No consideration for a starved fox. How do I get him down here? Hmmm, yes, I have a brilliant idea. I will trick him into coming down. Haha ha.”
“Have you heard the wonderful news?”
Hmmm, this fox seems to be up to no good.
“What news, oh noble herald of the animal kingdom? I am dying to hear your news.”
"Your family and mine and all other animals have agreed to forget their differences and live in peace and friendship from now on forever. Just think of it! I simply cannot wait to embrace you! Do come down, dear friend, and let us celebrate the joyful event."
"How grand! I certainly am delighted at the news.
And I can see someone ....... never mind."
"What is it you see?"
"It looks like Brutus is coming this way. He must have heard the great news and is coming to embrace you. To bask in the glory of this grand event with you. To subject you to his loving and tender care."
“Brutus? That foul-tempered, ill-mannered dog? He is a maniac, a psychopath. Ahem, I have a very important errand that I had almost forgotten about. See you later.”
“Ha ha ha, there is no dog coming here. I just tricked the fox. Am I a genius, or what?”

The lesson here is that the trickster is easily tricked. Thus, the rooster was able to outfox the fox.
